Rimas’ Decorative Masterpieces for Gallery Balta: A Harmonious Blend of Form and Function

Rimas, a master of contemporary woodwork, was recently commissioned to design and create unique slatted wall panels and a counter for Gallery Balta. The project aimed to enhance the gallery’s minimalist aesthetic with an elegant yet striking design. Rimas chose MDF (Medium-Density Fiberboard) as the primary material, known for its versatility and smooth finish,  perfect for detailed carving.

To bring his vision to life, he meticulously glued layers of MDF, ensuring durability and stability. The centerpiece of the design was the intricate wave pattern he carved into both the slatted panels and the counter. These flowing, organic lines introduced a subtle sense of movement to the gallery’s interior, complementing the artistic atmosphere without overwhelming it.

The entire installation was finished in a sleek, white design. This choice of color not only enhanced the gallery’s clean, modern look but also allowed the intricate waves to stand out with a quiet sophistication. Rimas’ work seamlessly blended form and function, turning a simple wall and counter into artistic elements that reflect the creative spirit of Gallery Balta.
